Kids' Camp - Baking Basics

For Kids Ages 10 - 12

Drop off your kids for some hands-on learning and fun, then pick them up and enjoy tasting what they made. While we call this camp, Baking Basics, the baked goods they’ll make and bring home are anything but basic. We know the valuable kitchen skills they'll learn here will come in handy for years to come and inspire a new generation of bakers. They'll learn recipes like our Blueberry Buckle, Buenos Aires Brownies, Challah Rolls and more. We'll also introduce them to the world of whole grains and how to mill them into fresh flour at home!

This year we'll be making some new recipes!

Please let us know about any dietary restrictions at sign-up and we'll do our best to accommodate them. While we can sometimes omit ingredients from recipes, we’re unable to provide substitutions. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The kids will leave BAKE! camp with our recipes, the knowledge to recreate them at home, all the food they made in class, and great coupons.

Kids' Camp - Early Teen Advanced Baking

For Early Teens Ages 13 - 15

Drop off your kids for some hands-on learning and fun, then pick them up and enjoy tasting what they made. This camp, Advanced Baking, is designed for early teens ages 13 - 15, who have already taken our Baking Basics camp or are more experienced in the kitchen (and fall within the appropriate age range).

Students will make a variety of sweet and savory dishes from Puff Pastry to traditional Bavarian Pretzel Twists and more! We'll cover a wide variety of skills, techniques, and recipes and kids will go home with a bounty of baked goods every day. We'll even be introducing them to the power of eggs, what makes doughs rise, as well as whole grains and how to mill them into fresh flour at home.

Kids' Camp - Spring Break!

Drop your kids off for a fun, hands-on learning experience, and pick them up with delicious treats they made themselves! You'll be amazed by the techniques they learn and impressed by all the incredible flavors.

At camp, your kids will gain valuable kitchen skills they can use for years to come. They’ll master recipes that they can adapt as their tastes and skills evolve, from quick breads and yeasted loaves to pastries,  and so much more! We’ll also explore the world of whole grains and even learn how to mill fresh flour at home!

Special Edition Kids' Camp: Kneading and Leading (early teens ages 13 - 15)

For Early Teens Ages 13 - 15

In our BAKE! kids’ classes, students experience the joy of baking and learn to be leaders in the kitchen. But now they can be leaders in their lives too! Zingerman’s BAKE! and ZingTrain (Zingerman’s Training) are teaming up to offer Kneading and Leading, a full-day summer camp for kids. It will be an action-packed week with hands-on fun in the kitchen and lively leadership learning! Kids should wear comfortable shoes and clothes that they don’t mind getting a little dirty. Lunch will be provided by Zingerman’s Bakehouse. 

At BAKE!, your child will learn foundational techniques and apply them in exciting ways. We’ll even introduce them to the world of whole grains and how to mill them into fresh flour at home. (Note: the content is the same as the Advanced Baking summer Kids' Camp for early teens ages 13 - 15.)

At ZingTrain, kids will participate in lots of play-based learning that will help them on their path of growth. Games, discussion, and reflection will be used to explore group dynamics and how to effectively work together. There will be many opportunities to practice playing different roles within a group, revealing how our actions may affect others, and helping us find tools to manage ourselves and make positive impacts. 

We will also look inward and build confidence in our thoughts as we start to define our own unique vision of success—a tool that will help guide your child’s decision making, long after the camp has ended. 

Your child will leave each day with an armful of fresh-baked pastries to share and a toolkit filled with personal and interpersonal skills that they can carry with them at school, at home, and into their future.
